Glenwood Springs & Hanging Lake - June 2016

Glenwood Springs holds a special place in my heart, but sadly, I haven't had the chance to make it up for a visit in a long time. It's only about three hours away, but between work and a million other things, it just didn't happen. Thankfully, I have some awesome friends and boyfriend who humored me and took a weekend off this summer to come adventure!

We got to spend a few days in Glenwood Springs, the first of which was mostly spent running around town, having a few belated birthday drinks and going to the hot springs. I didn't take a ton of photos the first day, but I did get a few candid shots of Dom, Kenny and Jason that I love. Also our hotel was pretty awesome, so there's a few photos of that.

The second day we were in town, we went to the adventure park, got some margaritas and decided to hike up to Hanging Lake for sunset. The trail and lake are usually packed, especially during the summer, but we chose the perfect time to go - everyone was coming down as we were going up, and by the time we reached the top there were only about five other people up there with us. It's one hell of a hike that's even more beautiful at sunset, but I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Just a little higher than Hanging Lake is Spouting Rock, which I overlooked the first time I ever did this hike and have regretted it ever since. It's just as incredible as hanging lake and even bigger, well worth the short walk up. It's so surreal and beautiful that it doesn't even feel real.

We also adventured over to Carbondale to visit Mount Sopris. This view just doesn't seem real either. The entire valley is just breathtaking - so much that I had to stick my head out the window and snap a few photos while we were driving away. The photos and sights were amazing, but the company was just as great. I can't wait to do it all again.
