Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, Day 1 @ The Fillmore, 7/13/14

Having never shot an actual festival before, I was pretty stoked going into Mayhem Fest. The Denver dates (yes I said dates) were weird, though, because they actually broke the tour up into two separate days at two different venues. But while this first day didn't really feel like a festival since it was indoors, there were a crapload of bands a ton of photographers there, so that kind of made up for it.

Lighting at The Fillmore wasn't amazing and I didn't get a ton of photos that I loved, but the few I did like I was really happy with. It's always a pleasure shooting Miss May I and I had a ton of fun shooting the majority of these bands for the first time, especially Suicide Silence and Mushroomhead.

Also, my fellow photographer, Svetlana Joukova is an absolute saint and a wonderful photo pit buddy and I'm super grateful that she decided to give me her extra photo pass for both days of Mayhem Fest. I'm totally sucking up, but I don't care - I wouldn't rather shoot next to anyone else, haha.
